Microneedling is one of the treatments clients now come in asking for by name. It works by creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin and letting the body's own healing response do the rest — which is exactly why it needs teaching properly. Needle depth, skin assessment and knowing when not to treat matter more here than in almost any other facial treatment.
This course covers the theory behind that healing response and then puts it into practice on live models, so you leave having actually performed the treatment rather than watched it.

What the course covers
The day runs from the science through to the protocol: what microneedling is doing to the skin, who it suits, who it does not, and how the treatment changes depending on whether you are working on texture, fine lines, acne scarring or pigmentation.

Do I need anything before booking?
This one is listed as intermediate rather than beginner. If you are already working as a therapist you will be comfortable with it. If you are newer, most learners take Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology first — understanding the wound healing process is a good deal easier when you already understand the skin.
Both courses are included together in the Skin Specialist Advanced Package, which is usually the better route if you want the pair.
Practical training on live models
Practical work is on live models, not mannequins or each other in the abstract. Groups are kept small so there is genuine time on the device with someone watching what your hands are doing — which is the only way needle depth ever really goes in.
You leave with an accredited certificate on successful completion, a training manual, and tutor support afterwards for the questions that only turn up once you are treating your own clients.
Common questions
Do I need to be a qualified therapist already?
It is an intermediate-level course. If you are not yet qualified, Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology covers the underpinning knowledge, and the two are bundled together in the Skin Specialist Advanced Package. If you are not sure whether your current training is enough, ask Kim before you book — she will tell you either way.
How long is the course?
One day at the academy in Ossett, including practical training on live models.
Will I be insured to treat afterwards?
You receive an accredited certificate on successful completion. Insurance itself is arranged directly with an insurer, and each one sets its own requirements — confirm what yours needs to see before you book.
Is a device or kit included?
The course covers safe device operation and maintenance as part of the training. What is supplied on the day is listed above — check with Kim before booking if you are planning which device to buy.
